在不断的疫情风暴下,越来越多的同学把香港作为艺术留学的优先选择之一,而香港也因其地理环境和历史文化的因素,积累了无数国内外顶尖艺术资源。今天就来看看香港理工大学设计学院研究生(学位课程大改革)。
香港理工大学(The Hong Kong Polytechnic University,简称PolyU)。PloyU同样也是香港地区历史最悠久的高校之一,在2024年QS艺术设计类院校排名16,综合类院校排名66,对于既看重专业排名也看重综合排名的同学们来说,PloyU是一个非常不错的选择。
当然,PloyU还有一个无可替代的优势,它是香港地区唯一一所拥有设计学院(PolyU Design)的大学。在经历过研究生课程和教职工的改革重组之后,设计学院以全新的专业设置面向所有艺术留学生们。原有的Design Practices(设计实践)、Interaction Design(交互设计)、International Design and Business Management(国际设计与商业管理)、Urban Environment Design(城市环境设计)从2024/2023学年开始会消失在设计学院的研究生课程名单之上,而Design Strategies(设计策略)专业也从全日制课程转型为非全日制课程。
PloyU Design在保留下来的MSc Multimedia & Entertainment Technology(多媒体娱乐科技)专业的基础上,一共引进了4种设计硕士学位课程:

转型环境设计
The transitional design approach is about transferring an understanding of the socio-cultural dynamics into new design strategies and design interventions.
转型环境设计(TED)硕士课程是针对香港和中国在过去几十年里发生的前所未有的农村和城市变化而设立的专业。TED借鉴了当代香港和中国大陆各地农村和城市的环境设计经验,并在此基础上对区域背景和社会文化进行调研,开展全新的设计策略,力求在全球范围内产生更广泛的影响。本专业要求申请者拥有空间设计、建筑、景观、城市与农村设计或环境研究、城市研究和生态学相关学科的学士学位。

Creating meaningful service interventions to meet broader societal and business challenges.
智能服务设计(SSD)是一个跨学科的专业,通过对商业、科技、社会和组织背景的理解为更广泛的社会和商业挑战创造可持续的服务体验。SSD的重点完全超出了用户体验设计、信息设计、产品设计或任何其他单一的设计应用产出的范围,相反,它专注于广泛的设计范围,包括整合设计、商业、科技和人类需求。除此之外,SSD认为“以人为本”应该贯彻于整个设计过程中,通过研究用户需求,与利益相关者、合作伙伴以及其他学科的专家进行合作,研究如何在更广泛的服务行业中推进创新服务设计的实践。本专业要求申请者拥有设计、商业、人文或某种科技领域的学士学位。

智能系统设计(ISD)是一个以跨学科为核心的新兴专业,通过智能技术、系统理论和创新设计方法的整合,将设计和STEM领域的专业知识联系在一起。ISD的学生需要充分了解创新产业和先进制造业中的新兴技术,以及智能系统设计对人类、社会、环境和全球范围内所可能产生的影响。而ISD的前身就是已经被取消的交互设计专业,但在改革后专门定制的科技学习环境中,本专业广泛接受STEM和非STEM背景的申请者,以及交互设计、UX、工业设计、传播学、心理学和人类学专业背景的申请者。

创新商业设计
Applying integrative design thinking processes and methods to define business opportunities.
创新商业设计(IBD)同样也是一个跨学科专业,课程重点在于以设计为中心的创业方法。IBD应用综合性的设计思维过程和方法来定义商机、进行资源配置,并在一个充满数字化设想和商业不确定性的时代,以动态能力进行项目管理。改革后的新研究生课程重点对设计、商业和科技的系统性理解,为香港的产业转型培养人才,以改善香港、内地和全球范围内的日常生活和经济情况。本专业要求申请者拥有设计、商业、人文或某种科技领域的学士学位,最好有两年及以上的相关工作经验。

一般来说,作品集的内容可以包括你所做的最先进的设计。PolyU Design对自创的、实验性的和商业性的作品中的概念发展过程感兴趣。必要时用简洁的描述来支持Sample,尽可能指出各个项目的参考资料。作品集可以包括但不限于你的概念、创意草图、计划、实验、测试数据以及与上述内容相关的过程。另外,如果是团体项目,请注明你在其中的贡献。
如果想要申请创新商业设计,PolyU Design可以接受申请者不提交与设计相关的作品集,但需要在面试过程中重点展示你的背景、兴趣和工作经验。
